Welcome to Castlefield Community Centre

Castlefield is a small and inviting neighbourhood house managed by BayCISS (Bayside Community Information and Support Service). We run programs that respond to the needs of the community and hire facilities to local groups and private providers. Our aim is to build a connected community where people can learn new skills, share their experiences and get the support they need to feel valued in their community.

Our next performance of One World Voices is nearly here and I hope you can join us on Sunday 18 November 2-4pm. Its a fund raiser for a primary school in South Africa and Valanga Khoza who attended the school will be performing with other African musicians. If you can’t attend but would like to make a donation you can do that through the TryBooking link.

Our choir, One World Voices, rehearses on a Thursday evening between 7.30 and 8.45 during term time. The group sings folk, African, Gospel and Indigenous songs in a range of different languages. Its a lot of fun and also great for learning new skills. You don’t have to have a musical background and there are no auditions. All you need to do is try something different and be prepared have a go. Many of the songs are call and response so you will pick them up quickly. There is nothing like three or four part harmony to bring the music alive, not to mention when you add in clapping and dancing at the same time!

Please call Ros on 9596 0662 if you are interested.
